It depends how they offer advice. I could have just abused the mentality of the mending paragon I saw last night... or the fact that a dervish refused to use Junundu Wail when they had 100 health after I explained what it did and how to use it... or the assassin who charged into the sulfurus wastes without being in a Junundu.... or....

they're sometimes right tho
Alot of people fail at the game and there's nothing wrong with telling them how they could play better.
Some smartasses like to flame everyone who is 'dumber then them', while they are just copying pvx builds themselves. Ignore them

Create Threads much? >.>

I am that person, I'll tell you what to bring, what to do, when to breath & when not to. And if you don't want to hear that, you can take another pug and fail.

Seriously though, when pugging you need 1 that acts like a leader. Calls targets, shows you where to go, and what aprox build to take. That's why I Love my hero's they allways take orders (most of the times anyways ^^).

I usually start a thread on forums about this hellish injustice and slit my wrists in despair!

I hardly PUG, and my alliance is used to me going nuts occasionally. :>

I usually avoid posting on Guild Wars Guru forums, where many of these egotistical players like to scream "OMG N00B USE THE S34RCH FUNCTI0N!!~" or "u r stupid /thread" to ANY of your suggestions/ideas.

Since I'm better than everybody, I've never encountered this.

Looks like people know better than to tell me how2play.

I agree, a leader figure is needed..though would be nice if people did it in a nice way. Most PUG's fail right at the end anyways because they don't listen and for EG they attack Shiro before i hit Wild Blow (......)

But overall i do agree with Groovy here.

- Haha, what fools. Everyone knows that you *are* the best player in Guild Wars and there's nothing other people can teach to you.

I have seen plenty of bad players, the worst part is when they bring heroes and you think ok that'll be good.

Until you see their mo/n has like 2 heals, heal other and heal party. Along with Offering of Blood and some blood attacks.

Usually I just go back to town and leave them there. If I am in a nice mood I will offer advice but usually you just ignore them.

I'm probably one of those "egotistical" people you are talking about. With that said, the only reason why I may act egotistical with you is because you are arguing with me when I am far superior to you. If you just do what I say without arguing through your ignorance than my condescending comments would be avoided.

Basically what I am trying to say is, if you stop being bad, you no longer have to deal with egotistical people, because you are better than them and they will either be forced to put up or shut up.

I've never really had a bad experience with that sort of player.
But I'd just set them to ignore and as soon as we got back to town, bail.

How nice for you. Your parents must be very proud.

Threads like this, and people still wonder why Anet gave us heroes.

I ignore them.
If they ask me to change builds, I change them, ping them, and go back to the build I want.

At all times my build works better than the stupid things they pretend me to use.

Then they never notice, because my builds are better than the ones they gave me, XD.
Sometimes, after that, they tell me 'Told you mine was better'.
I don't know why they get so angry when I ping my build then, XD.

Hey, if the monster dies in 3 seconds and after than I keep 95% energy, who cares which build I used?

3 options in dealing with egotistical people in-game:

1. Don't PUG
2. Ignore
3. Leave Party

1 option in dealing with egotistical posters (usually PvP jackasses who hate on PvErs) on guru:

Flame them.

You forgot my favorite one,

4. Screw with 'em.

When I get guys who like to be the law, I just willfully comply, and then in mission I'll make all the 'mistakes'. Usually sends them into 'u noob' fits. Of course I'll just start berating their leadership in CAPS. Good times
